Romania tops the list of countries with rich natural resources used for all kinds of cures. The variety of relief, climate and abundance of mineral water springs, made the establisment of numerous resorts in earlier times possible. Today, there are more then 160 spas and health resorts, which are located in mountains, hills, coast and on the plains. These cure resorts are equipped with excellent facilities for rest and recreation, treatment for many kinds of conditions and up to date medical equipment.
One of these resorts is Slanic Moldova.
Slanic Moldova dates back to 1755. The first spa establishment was built in 1827, where the Moldavian landowners went for therapeutic baths. This was destroyed during World War I and rebuilt afterwards. In 1832, scientists made the first chemical analysis of the mineral waters, which soon became famous.
The spa is located in the town of Slanic Moldova, which is on the eastern slopes of the Carpathian Mountains. The air is fresh, rich in resinous aerosols, and negative ions.
Temperatures may vary between 15C to 25C April/October.
