In and around Bacau County:
Durau, all season resort of national importance, in the north-eastern part of Romania (Neamt county), in a sunny glade at the foot of the Ceahlau Mountains (eastern Carpathians), so-called Olympus of Moldavia.
The tonic sub-alpine climate, clean air, dust and allergen free are the main natural curative factors.
The resort is recommended for rest and the treatment of stress related conditions. A good opportunity exists for trips in the mountains (the Ocolasu Mare and Toaca peaks, 1,907m and 1,904m respectively, in the Ceahlau Mountains, the Duruitoarea fall, the Ceahlau wildlife preserve, etc.) and the winter sports (ski, skating rink, etc).
Tusnad & Lake St. Ana
Situated in the central-eastern part of Romania, on the river Olt, the holiday resort of Tusnad is the ideal vacation for relaxation, mineral water treatment for digestive related disorders. Lake St. Ana, the only volcanic lake in Romania, at 950m altitude offers the most beautiful view.
Carpathian Bison
Once a national symbol, Carpathian bison are on the extinct. The bison reservation and fauna "Dragos Voda" in Vanatori, Neamt County are the real pride for the area.
